Priceless is the blood of Jesus
We are told (Isaiah 53:11) that He will see the fruit of the travail of His soul and be satisfied. God the Father was satisfied (Matthew 3:17) with all He saw in Jesus.
Is Jesus satisfied to see what you and I have allowed the travail of His soul to accomplish in us? Many individuals in the Christian Church in North America have disobeyed God’s command to go into all the world with the Gospel of salvation; so the Lord brought people from all the world here. When you and I have contact with a person from another country, is God still blessing (Genesis 12:3) the nations of the world through us? Gethsemane, Calvary, complete abandonment are part of the horrendous, essential, unspeakable cost paid by Jesus in the travail of His soul. The far-reaching scope of all the travail purchased and provided for us is beyond comprehension. It will cost us dearly if we take it for granted, treat it casually or ignore it. We must abide in our Lord Jesus, bonded to Him by His travail for us and live in the light and truth of it. Then our natural reactions will be transformed into loving, Christ-like responses in all circumstances. Because of the Incarnate Deity of Jesus within us (Colossians 2:9-10) we too are filled with the fullness of the Godhead. Is that glorious truth evident in our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit Who is (ROM.8:2) the Spirit of the Life which is in Christ Jesus? Or is it hidden by the death shroud of self-interests in busy pursuits?
We will bring joy to the heart of Jesus if He sees that (Matthew 5:13-14) we are salt and light in our particular world, that we are (Ephesians 5:15) careful to conduct our lives worthily, that our greatest desire (Oswald Chambers) “is to be one with the Father as Jesus was”.
If we are one with the Father, that openness will include being one with Him in His hatred of sin. We will abhor sin in ourselves and in our world. So one with God that we will be actively one with Him in His redemptive purpose, - - one in faithful praying, giving and witnessing. By taking Communion we can (1 Corinthians 11:26) proclaim, show forth the Lord’s death until He comes. There is only one way and that is by living the Christian Life which the travail of His agonizing death made possible for us. Any other life is not the Christian Life, it is not Eternal Life. God alone gives (1 John 5:11) Eternal Life and this life is in His SON. When we hear with deepening understanding what the Holy Spirit is telling us about the travail of Jesus, we can understand why Almighty God asked (Micah 6:11) How can I be pure Myself and acquit the wicked? Our heavenly Father’s question will intensify our passion to be one with Him to have such oneness with Him that there will be nothing of the old life left and Jesus will live His victorious Resurrection Life in and through us. Then we can choose that every day will be an investment for eternity and that our intimacy with Jesus continually increases.
What does the travail of Jesus mean for lost sinners?
We who have been born-again have experienced this miracle. In response to genuine repentance (Jonah 3:10) God revokes the punishment that His holiness demands and lavishes us with His grace and mercy - no acquittal but full and forever forgiveness. How is that possible for (1 Timothy 6:16) the God of brilliant, terrifying holiness? The agonizing travail of Jesus, beyond and unlike the suffering of any other, is the amazing glorious answer to God’s question. On the Cross just before He died Jesus said (John 19:30) It is Finished! Immediately when those history-making, world-changing 3 words were spoken, the wrath of God was satisfied, sin lost its grip and death was conquered. Priceless is the Blood of Jesus which is made completely effective by the

Life Perspective
My knees shall bow and my tongue confess
Every part of my life profess
That Jesus my Saviour is my Master and Lord
And my soul is nourished by His Living Word.
The mind of Christ to rule is my choice,
Safe in His guidance I’m secure to rejoice.
Because He has overcome the world,
In my heart no trouble will dwell,
Confidently trusting, abiding in Him,
Knowing that always He does all things well.
