If sin rules in me God’s life in me will be killed; if God rules in me, sin in me will be killed.
What is God’s purpose for the present time? Now in our day God has given scientists amazing knowledge and ability to build spectacular telescopes and astounding technology by which they can look back billions of years. They have discovered that the universe had a beginning and a Creator.
What my mind cannot fully conceive,
My heart can fully believe,
And my life is enriched to receive.
For many years atheistic scientists have pushed, promoted, taught the false theory of a big bang and evolution. Even militant atheists had to admit the Truth of the indisputable facts. It is no longer SCIENCE or BIBLE. Science is finally beginning to catch up with Truth and confirm the facts which the Bible has always declared. There is no escape from this unchanging Truth - - in the beginning God created. This has always been eternally true and whatever, no matter what, some choose to believe, it changes absolutely nothing.
Why is God revealing more of Himself in these last days, as we are heading toward the end of the time of Grace? Because He is not willing (2 Peter 3:9) that any should perish and because (Hebrews 9:27) after death comes certain judgment for every person. This is as certain as (Daniel :5,27) the handwriting on the wall. He provided (1 Timothy 2:5-6) for every person and has no pleasure (Ezekiel 33:11) in the death of the wicked. Jesus is still (Matthew 16:18) building His Church so that, we His Church, will reach more and more people in this world, which is more chaotic than it has ever been.
(Dr. Stanley) “If you are a Christian and not a missionary, it is a contradiction of terms. That does not mean that every Christian has to go but it does mean that in the life of every Christian there must be something, going, sending, giving, praying, witnessing, something which shares in spreading of the Gospel”. If our heart is truly involved, we will find ways to express the heart of God.
Peter was perfectly sincere but thoroughly mistaken when he declared (Matthew 26:35) that he would rather die than deny Jesus. He foolishly thought that he could do it. Watch - - he followed Jesus (Matthew 26:58) afar off, he sat with the servants of the High Priest, the very ones (Mark 14:54) who had so brutally arrested Jesus, and he got himself warm and comfortable, sitting by the fire on that cold night – while Jesus was being abused. He learned later what we all need to learn.
Lord Jesus, I can’t, You never said I could – but –
You can and You always said You would.
When Jesus looked at Peter (Luke 22:61) was there anger, bitter disappointment, I-told-you-so, in that look? No, there was only love and understanding and that was (Matthew 26:75) what broke Peter’s heart. Jesus is looking at you and me with love. Don’t rob yourself of priceless intimacy with Him by embracing the temporal, deceitful things of the world, all of which are designed to injure your soul. God has an unchangeable calendar (Psalms 139:16) for your life and mine. Our free will has limitations based on God’s Sovereign purpose.
Take every thought (2 Corinthians 10:5) captive, not every deed, because everything begins with a thought and thoughts are things in God’s sight. It only takes a thought to make me a murderer, an adulterer, a thief, a slanderer, etc. before the Lord. Have we ever probed the reality of (Proverbs 23:7) as a person thinks in his/her heart is what he/she truly is. We are what we think and if we think right we will live right. If we are not careful about what we listen to and watch, if we immerse ourselves in an avalanche of thoughts from the world culture, we will soon be submerged in (1 John 2:16) the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, the pride of life. Satan is the controller of this world (1 John 5:19) and these temptations are the root of many of his temptations and attacks.
(Oswald Chambers) – “Sin is a fact, not a defect and it is red-handed mutiny against God. The climax of sin was that it crucified Jesus Christ. Either God or sin must die in my life. The New Testament brings us right down to this one issue. If sin rules in me God’s life in me will be killed; if God rules in me, sin in me will be killed. There is no possible ultimate but that”.
But I show you (1 Corinthians 12:31, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8,13) a more excellent way. The love of God (Romans 5:5) radiates in and from our hearts by the Holy Spirit and beautifies our attitudes and responses.
The love of God can change us from proud to humble, from selfish to generous, from careless to considerate, from judging to compassion, from harsh to gentle, from impatient to patient, from unthankful to grateful from fearful anxiety to peaceful trust and more. Now take this list and stack up all the FROMs against all the TOs. Now decide - - which column would you prefer to describe you?
As many as are the promises of God (2 Corinthians 1:20) they all find their YES answer in Christ WHEN we say AMEN to them by our unquestioning obedience to God through Christ, to the glory of God.
Moses saw (Exodus 33:18-19) the glory of God. Ezekiel saw the glory of God (Ezekiel 1:28, Ezekiel 3:27, Ezekiel 8:4 etc.) more than once and he fell on his face. What about us? We can behold the glory of God continually (2 Corinthians 4:6) as it is manifested in the Person and is revealed in the face of Jesus Christ for the illumination of our knowledge of God.
That verse should create heart-hunger in us to be (Ephesians 3:19) wholly filled and flooded with God Himself.
Everything that happens in the lives of believers, including physical death or the Rapture, is preparing and fitting us to go with the Lord (Revelation EV.21:1,5) into His new Creation.
