Storm

Suddenly a violent storm but He was sleeping (Matthew 8:24). Is this what it seems like in my life just now? Does it feel like Jesus is asleep and I'm alone in the storm? Why the storms? Why such fierce storms? (Psalms 74:17) You have made summer and winter. God has designed an important role for the high office of winter in my life.

The Lord promised to make Abraham the father of multitudes and then told him to offer his son for a burnt offering. Was the Omniscient God trying to find out if Abraham trusted Him enough to obey Him?

Of course not! God already knew but Abraham needed to know and he came through the test into deeper, more intimate fellowship with God.

Will I trust that the difficulties and apparent dangers are the very doors to new treasures?

Can I get to the breaking point without breaking my faith in God?

How often I cling to Hebrews 13:5 (Amplified) -- God Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you or give you up, nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless, nor forsake you, nor let you down, nor relax My hold on you. Assuredly not!

I cannot reason it out. I must realize that what happens in our lives is the positive miracle of the Redemption at work. Faith is not a conscious thing; it springs from a personal relationship.

(Matthew 8:26) They missed it again. Jesus asked why they were afraid and vs.27 explains that they didn't yet know Him well enough. How many times have I missed the opportunity to bring Him joy by failing to trust Him at the height of the storm? The secret of victorious joy in the worst of circumstances is knowing HIM. Nothing in life or death, time or eternity, can stagger one who is committed to implicit trust in the Lord Jesus.

Let not, do not let, refuse to let your heart be troubled.
