I think that particular period started with the devastating illness and death of my Mother. Then, in the next few months, our family was rocked by illness, sorrow, surgery, deaths and tragedy, until we were baffled by pain and numb with grief.

The Omnipresence of God is a wonderful comfort, especially in the dark and lonely, frightening places. Amazing fact -- He is in front of us, behind us, on both sides and He indwells us. The glorious One, Who is the very essence of unconditional Love, promised that He would never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Then too, we have the glad assurance that our lives are hid with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). Picture that reality. You are encompassed by the Almighty Lord Jesus and He is surrounded by the Sovereign God! What danger, hurt or harm could ever penetrate that protection? Nothing -- unless God deliberately stands aside to let something through.
John 3:16 -- God so loved, that He gave ... that whosoever ... might have ... LIFE!
How could God love so much that He gave so much? This verse reveals the total abandonment of God; He gave Himself for us absolutely, without any calculation or reservation or qualification!!! Do we understand that the salvation of God is deliverance out of self entirely, into union with Himself and our whole life is taken up with Him?!?!
These thoughts have been coming to mind for some time. There are so many Scriptural references in Ex., Lev., and Num.
e.g. Leviticus 2:2-9 -- A sacrifice burned on the altar, an offering made by fire yields a sweet and satisfying fragrance to the Lord.
Several things struck me with fresh impact as I read again the third chapter of Joshua.
(Joshau 3:11) The Lord of all the earth is passing over before you. THE LORD OF ALL THE EARTH; yet He was totally present with them, as He is with us.
Christmas ..... a wondrous star in the night sky, startled shepherds, a glorious angelic message,
THE PRICELESS GIFT -- and we've added candles, coloured lights, trees, decorations, etc. This is how we see Christmas with a view from the earth.
Do we recognize the Christmas story in Revelation 12:1-6?
A few words from Philippians 1:20 caught my attention in a fresh way; "That Christ will be magnified and get glory and praise in this body of mine and be boldly exalted in my person, whether through life or through death."
Mary said, "My spirit has rejoiced in God, my Saviour."
Ezekiel 3:25-27: Ropes will be put upon you, you cannot go out, you cannot talk.
BUT ... when I speak with you ...
As I was reading, these phrases seemed to come together as one statement. Although they are lifted out of context, the principle is not abused by using them in this way.
Living with uncertainty ..... many of us do. We have lived with uncertainty for several months
and frightening possibilities loom in our run-away imaginations.
