LOOKS LIKE A HOPELESS CASE

Nothing depends on those we pray for – no matter their discouraging attitude.  Everything depends on one thing only – God’s response to our faith.

PARTING THOUGHTS -- LAST WORDS

                  You were planned in love,

                  designed to reflect His beauty,

                  destined for glory.

SOMETHING ELSE I DIDN’T UNDERSTAND
Hebrews 6:4-8 After several days of seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance, meditation and searching the Scriptures, this is my present thinking based on the Scriptures the Lord brought to mind. I’m asking and trusting Him to correct me if I have misunderstood. While I can see the horror of it, I can also see the justice of God because everyone mentioned had full knowledge of the Truth. But even with all their knowledge and experience they deliberately rejected salvation and turned away.

THAT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER — OR DOES IT?
Is what you do important? Of course critical decision, expensive purchases, health care, etc. are very important. But what about the small details of daily life – are they important?

THE DARKNESS OF SELF- INDULGENCE — OR — THE LIGHT OF SELF-DENIAL
Jesus said – (John 7:17) if any man will do His will he shall know of the doctrine. The Lord makes it obvious that spiritual knowledge is not based on intellect or education. It is received only by Divine revelation and the key is obedience. It is (James 3:17) wisdom from above.

THE DAY THE FATHER’S HEART EXPLODED
It was the first month of the year and it was the time of Passover. The High Priest was well hidden behind the thick curtains of blue, purple and scarlet fine-twined linen. The holy of holies (Hebrews 9:7) was completely shut off to everyone else. Only the tinkling of the bells on his robe communicated to the congregation that he was still alive. Silently and reverently the High Priest went about his duties. Everything was in order and he performed every detail as it had always been done since God ordained the system. Nothing unexpected would happen – could happen – but suddenly – without warning – shock – terror – amazement. The curtain was split in two from top to bottom – and the holy of holies was completely exposed - - - and nobody died! What had happened?

THE HEARTBREAK OF GOD - THE GRIEF OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - THE FOLLY AND DEATH-BLOW OF SATAN
Jesus is now in Gethsemane on this Thursday evening and agonizes while His disciples sleep. His mind is tortured by thoughts of what is before Him. After a sleepless night in a dungeon under the high priest’s house, He will be dehydrated – - He knows that His will be no ordinary crucifixion, His will have many harsh brutalities added. But, none of this is the real reason for His stress. What is in the cup that He wishes He could avoid. Definitely not the Cross because He said in His prayer (John 17:4) “Father, I have finished the work you gave Me to do.” Had He? Not literally yet, because there was still the Cross - - but Jesus was so committed to the Father’s will, it was as good as done – as sure as history, but just hadn’t yet happened. What then, was in the cup that caused Him such anguish? I see two things - - one causing horrifying dread and the other causing anxious fear.

THE QUESTION IS . . . .
Where can a man buy a cap for his knee,
Or a key to the lock of his hair?
Can his eye be called an academy, because there are pupils there?
In the crown of his head, what gems are found?
Who crosses the bridge of his nose?
Can he use when shingling the roof of his house, the nails on the end of his toes?
Can the crook of his elbow be sent to jail, if so what can he do?
How can he sharpen his shoulder blades? I’m sure I don’t know, do you?
Can he sit in the shade of the palm of his hand, or beat on his ear drums here?
If the calf of his leg eats the corn on his toe, should he not grow his corn on the ear?

THE SUFFERING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Do you realize how extremely valuable you are because of the tremendous price paid for your redemption - - the precious Blood of Jesus, God’s beloved Son? If God considered you and me worth dying for - - isn’t He worth living for?

“SO SEND I YOU” What is the deep meaning of the words spoken by Jesus?
As believers we need to be careful not to try to claim promises made to Israel. If Israel followed the Lord and obeyed His commandments, they were promised health, prosperity and victory over all their enemies. God has a very different program for His church.
