Because, He delights in mercy and abundant pardon
If there had been no sin God would not have needed Jesus, because, we would not have needed a Redeemer. But our Omniscient God declared (Isaiah 48:3-5) the past from the beginning, before it happened and He also declared long ago the future from of old. That is why Jesus is the (1 Peter 1:20) Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. That is how it was possible for us (Ephesians 1:4) to be chosen in Christ before the world began. But couldn’t our Omnipotent God have saved us by the Word of His power? Absolutely NOT! God dwells in the (1 Timothy 6:16) brilliant, fiercely burning, killing light of His terrifying holiness. If a sinner dared venture to approach God, the collision of sin with sovereign holiness would explode into the eternal destruction of the sinner. What we needed was Someone with all the power of God but Who could relate to us humans, yet be without sin. Come with me to a goldmine. Unto us a CHILD is born and (ISAIAH 9:6) to us a SON is given. That Child, born a human baby, always was and always will be VERY God. BUT – a Son is given to us, a ‘SON of Man’ in full humanity. That suggests a problem because we humans are all sinners from birth. Dig deeper in the goldmine.
It was essential for Jesus (Isaiah 7:14) to be born of a virgin so that He would not inherit a sin disposition from Adam, which we humans all have. God had already planned for the go-between, the bridge (1 Timothy 2:5) the mediator. God’s marvellous gift to us was Jesus the GOD-MAN. He is the God Who has all the power to save us and He is the sinless human Man, Who can redeem us by His shed blood and atoning death. In His humanity Jesus could identify with us, take our sin and guilt on Himself and experience physical death for the salvation of us who are all spiritually dead from birth, until we repent and receive from Him eternal spiritual life. No human can exist in heaven unless he/she is indwelt by the very Life of God. That is why rules, regulations, religion, church attendance, rituals, rites, good works, etc. will never obtain entry into heaven. None of these nor all of them together cannot produce the Life of God in any person. Only eternal Life, which is God’s gift, freely given to those who put personal faith in Jesus. When an individual repents of his sin, and by faith receives eternal Life from Jesus through His finished work on the Cross. That individual is guaranteed permanent citizenship in heaven because he is (Ephesians 1:13) sealed forever by the Holy Spirit
How could we have assurance and joy without these wonderful verses from Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:6 and all the God-breathed, history-making, living Words of Scripture? Isaiah also speaks of incarnate Deity (Isaiah 54:17) the righteousness of Jesus being reproduced in believers. If you neglect the spiritual nourishment and medication of daily Bible meditation to nourish and maintain a healthy soul, you will damage your soul and starve it into a grossly deformed skeleton. God’s will for us is (1 Thessalonians 4:3) sanctification. All spiritual rights, benefits, privileges we have were purchased by Jesus at the horrendous cost of His glorious Atonement, including sanctification. (Oswald Chambers) “Let God do in me all that has been made possible by the Atonement. My attitude as a saved and sanctified soul is that of profound humble holiness. There is no such thing as proud holiness. Sanctification makes me one with Jesus and in Him one with God and it is only through the Atonement of Christ.
Sanctification is the Life of Jesus being manifested in my mortal flesh”. The Bible is the mirror we look into and (2 Corinthians 3:18) see the glory of God. Then the Holy Spirit uses God’s Word to make us mirrors, which reflect the Glory of God. Do you ever foolishly wonder why are you are still on earth? Whatever your physical condition, God’s purpose for you and me (Psalms 92:14) is to bring forth fruit in old age. My genuine reaction to whatever, wherever, whenever gives evidence of my sanctification or lack of it.
Moses the Lawgiver spoke truth. All the prophets of God spoke truth. But they all spoke of and pointed to Jesus, Who, is the only One Who actually is (John 14:6) the TRUTH in His entire Being. He is very Truth.
(1 Timothy 6:16) (Matthew 11:28-30)
No one who tried could survive, Come unto me and I will
No one can or has come close to God. give you rest
Now we can see and understand why God needed Jesus. Also, we can see how desperately and continually we need Him. Our world is in desperate need of Jesus – BUT – our world is ripe for Antichrist. Why? Why are things so bad all over the world? They ignored, reputed all the evidence God has given, reviled God, proudly broken all His laws, trampled the Blood of Christ under their feet, SO God is giving them up (Romans 1:24) to the lusts of their own hearts with the inevitable consequences. As long as we hear God’s alarm clocks ringing let us pray and continue to pray as long as there might be time for one more spiritual awakening in this broken world.
At the time of my birth God set up a lifespan bank account for me and deposited an exact number of days. He is the rightful Owner of that account, which He put in my name. Until that account is depleted, the Lord will make a daily withdrawal entry in the bank book and He takes out one day which He entrusts to my stewardship. Daily He puts in the debits and credits which will enrich me spiritually and provide for my everyday essentials.
If I am a wise and obedient steward, I will not spend the day carelessly but I will invest it so that the Lord will receive (Matthew 25:27) His own with interest. If I truly love God, I will always put His interests first. The investment of each day can be reinvested in the following days so that in all things (1 Corinthians 10:31) God is glorified.
Paul said it best and with all our hearts we echo his words (2 Corinthians 9:15) Thanks be to God for His unspeakable GIFT, His precious Gift which is beyond telling, far beyond human words to describe. I am truly humbled and deeply grateful to be able to say that my Master and Lord is my best and dearest Friend. Heart-to-heart communion with the heavenly Father, precious, loving intimacy with Jesus, unceasing teaching and guidance from and companionship with the Holy Spirit. Nothing or everything this world offers can remotely compare with our priceless privilege to have unbroken communion with our Triune God.
Why did God need Jesus?
Because
Isaiah 55:7
He delights in mercy and abundant pardon.
