Which is more important - your car or your soul?

A manufactured marvel  or  Inbreathed ‘Breath of Life.’

Why is God pleased (Galatians 1:16) to reveal His Son in me?  Because Jesus did always and only (John 8:29) the things that pleased God.  So, if I abide in Jesus, He will continue to do through me the things that please God.  If someone does wrong against you, never (Romans 12:17, Proverbs 20:22) seek revenge but allow God to handle it.  Let your mind sink deep into the worthiness of the Lamb, Who exchanged our sin (2 Corinthians 5:21) for His righteousness.  Then you will find compassion in your heart and a desire to pray for that person who does not have the resurrection Life of Jesus.  Living right conduct is only by the Holy Spirit.  That person is in bondage and can please only the flesh or the devil.

The holy purpose for our being here is much higher than immature getting even.  Why should we stoop to reveal revenge when, in that situation, we could choose to reveal Jesus.  We are pleasing God only when He reveals His Son in us.  This is what the WORTHINESS of the LAMB has made possible for us.  Not just the exclusion of bitter resentment against our enemies but inclusion of prayerful compassion for those who choose to be our enemies.  This came right from the heart of God.  Pray this for ourselves and for the Persecuted Church, the tortured saints whose suffering is beyond anything we can ever imagine.  How much Jesus loved, how far He came, how much He paid at such a horrendous cost.  The WORTHINESS of the LAMB makes me shudder in absolute horror at the repulsive thought of ever grieving Him.

I think that we all know that we must be clad (Ephesians 6:13-18) in the full armour of God in order to defeat the wiles of the devil.  It is obvious that every piece of the weapons is defensive except for one.  The only offensive weapon is the sword of the Holy Spirit which is the Word of God.  (Dr. Jeremiah) “The word LOGOS refers to the (Hebrews 4:12) entire Word of God.  The word RHEMA refers to a specific saying of God from His Word for a specific situation.  RHEMA is the word used (Ephesians 6:17) for sword.”  Satan has only 3 weapons (1 John 2:16) the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life.  If Satan can attract us with any of these, he will help us to sin.  He used all of them on Eve (Genesis 3:6) and she succumbed.  He also used them on Jesus (Matthew 4:1-11) but Jesus overcame the devil, not by argument or debate, but by 3 RHEMA swords He selected from within God’s LOGOS, entire Word.  He chose these swords from (Deuteronomy 8:3, Deuteronomy 8:6-16, Deuteronomy 6:13) “It is written.”

If we don’t know God’s Word and neglect to know the holy Scriptures, Satan will definitely seduce us, trip us up and deceive us every time.  We have no power of ourselves to fight off the temptations and attacks of the devil.  Our only weapon is a RHEMA sword, a saying of God which is suited to the need.  Our only weapon but always, if used, a victorious weapon.  If you value your own soul, nourish it and feed it on the living Word of God.  Let the Work of Christ (Colossians 3:16) dwell in you richly.  Why?  Because we will never be free from legalism, failure and discouragement until we know the Truth.

How can we know the Truth?  Jesus said (John 8:31-32) if you abide in My Word and My Word abides in you, you will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.  Free from striving to live the Christian life, which is not hard, but it is impossible.  Only Jesus Himself can live the Christian life; and Jesus within us will live through us the life that pleases God by the power of the Holy Spirit – if we stop our futile trying and rest in Him.  Meditate on God’s Word, mull it over in your mind and you will be amazed at how the Holy Spirit will turn the lights on.  God’s Word can become (Psalms 119:111) the rejoicing of your heart.  There has never been a time when Christians have so desperately needed God’s Word.  So many have departed from the faith, so many have fallen away.  Many former stalwart defenders of the Truth have watered down the Gospel and have exchanged the Truth of God for a lie of the devil.  We are deceiving ourselves and actually perpetrating a lie if we say we love God but have no interest in reading what He says in His eternal Word.

When an automotive company produces a particular model of vehicle, they provide an instruction manual with it.  We carefully check for the times of oil changes, the necessary quality of gasoline and the accurate tire pressure.  If we want to properly maintain the vehicle, we obey the instructions in the manual because we realize that the manufactures of the vehicle knows best what it needs for safe survival.

God made us, (John 1:3) the world and everything in it and many of us are too stupid to read His instruction manual.  Of course, we would strongly protest if we didn’t receive an instruction manual with our new car.  We can’t know what is wrong if we don’t know truth.  Your Bible is the only reliable source of absolute truth in all the world.  Both the written Word and the living Word (John 1:14) are the revelation of God.  IF we will (2 Corinthians 3:18) behold in the Word of God, as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord, we will be constantly changed more and more into His very own image.  Check yourself and see if your car, which will last for only a few years, is more important to you than your eternal soul which will last forever.  It’s time to put on the brakes and have an overhaul.
