PRICE OR VALUE

God’s Grace is greater than all my sin.

You know the price of many temporary things in the world, but do you know the value of the external things God has provided for us?  Why do you spend your money (Isaiah 55:2) for that which is not bread and your earnings for what cannot satisfy?  If we overlook the value of eternal things, we will pay an awful price some coming day.  What price are we willing to pay for value we cannot lose?

Jesus had (Galatians 2:20) great faith, sufficient to believe that through His obedience, He would completely accomplish everything that God had ordained to be accomplished by His obedience.  Do we have enough faith to believe that through our obedience (Ephesians 2:10) God will enable us to do the good works He prepared in advance for us to do?

We are accountable (Romans 14:12) to God for everything we do or neglect to do during our lifetime on earth.  Often, I exercise blind trust in the sense of what I cannot see – BUT – I am never blind to God my heavenly Father Whom I continually trust with all my heart.

Disobeying the Lord, of course, is a sin against God’s holy will.  Doing God’s will in our own way or at our own time (Exodus 2:11-15) is also sin and will bring disastrous consequences that can last for years. Someone has said that Moses spent the first 40 years of his life thinking he was a ‘somebody’, the next 40 finding out that that he was ‘nobody’ and the last 40 discovering what God can do with a nobody.  Moses learned to obey God in God’s way and at God’s timing and he became the greatest leader Israel ever had.  We can learn many important truths from Moses.

When I hear God speak, obedience is my only wise choice.  Take NOW (Genesis 22:2-3) so EARLY in the morning.  Because of Abraham’s prompt obedience, God promised that all nations would be blessed through him because one of his descendants would be the Messiah of Israel, the Saviour of the world and He would reign on David’s throne forever.

The Life of Jesus (John 1:4) was the Light of mankind.  Now through believers, Jesus is leaving this Life so that (Matthew 5:14) we are the Light of the world shining in this present darkness to reveal Jesus.

See – learn – experience the greatness of living eternal Truth.

God’s grace is far greater than all my sin.  God’s goodness and kindness is far greater than all my gratitude.  God HIMSELF is far greater and beyond all my comprehension, and HE is my GOD!  The Holy Spirit teaches me to live/walk in the Light of spiritual insight, (1 Corinthians 2:16) the mind of Christ.

The Bible records many examples of the transforming power of God.  Moses was a murderer, and he became the greatest leader Israel ever had and led them out of Egyptian bondage.  Jacob was a cheat and deceiver, but his name was changed to Israel which means Prince with God.  Saul was a persecutor of Christians, but he became Paul the Apostle and the greatest Bible teacher in History.  There are many more examples of the miraculous transformation in human lives (1 Chronicles 16:9).  God’s unlimited Grace working in me is the Light of God to my soul and for all those who will walk in the Light of obedience before Him.

We must nourish our experience in faith in absolute unwavering confident trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Then we will be positive that everything the Lord sends, permits, allows in our life is for the strengthening of our faith for our spiritual enrichment and everything should be received with gratitude.  We will have greater understanding of God’s purpose in creating us, redeeming us, and placing us exactly where we are.

With His hand that still has the nail prints, His nail-scarred hand, Jesus takes my hand, and we walk together (Matthew 11:29) yoked together in ever-deepening sweet companionship.

God’s Grace is greater than all my sin.

God’s goodness and kindness is greater than all my gratitude.

God, Himself is far greater and far beyond all my comprehension.

And HE is my GOD!

AS THE DAYS GO BY

My every day is filled with the miracles of God’s Grace.

From Moses we learn (Exodus 9:6) that plagues preach.  From our own lives we learn that trials teach.  Sometimes they teach us to simply accept the inevitable of our aging bodies in this fallen world.  I want a face that says Welcome, a voice that speaks Kindness and a heart of Compassion and Understanding.

My sight has greatly deteriorated and is limited to the small right corner of my right eye.  It seems impossible for me to make out cheques for tithes and offerings and to pay bills because I cannot see what I write and where it should go to make the cheque acceptable.  But by the miracle of God’s unfailing goodness and Grace I have never had a cheque refused or returned.

I have many pills to sort out and arrange for each week.  The Lord enables me to get every pill into the right place in the weekly holder. Every time I finish, I am in awe before the Lord.  I can’t - - BUT GOD!  The Sovereign Lord created, provided and makes effective every pill I need.  I have so abundantly much for which to be grateful.  God fills my every day.  My every day is filled with the miracles of God’s Grace as the days go by.

I want to be a faithful ambassador, occupied only with the King’s business as the days go by.

As I grow physically weaker and have more pain, I grow spiritually richer as the love and care of Jesus is richer, fuller, deeper and sweeter as the days go by.

For each day (Ephesians 6:13) I put on the whole armour of God so that I can stand firm and equipped for what each day holds as the days go by.

THIS IS ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN WHOSE NAME IS “. . . . . . “

Jeremiah said (Jeremiah 1:5, Jeremiah 31:3) that before God formed you in your mother’s womb, He knew you, called you by your name and loved you with an everlasting love.  Before you were born the Lord had a purpose for your life and He equipped you with many talents and abilities.

God prepared many gifts for you which would coincide with the date of your birth.  He established a lifespan bank account for you in heaven.  Jesus has the bank book which records (Psalms 139:16) the number of days in your bank account.  You have been given an earth visa, which shows how long you will be eligible to live on earth.  When your earth visa expires your citizenship in heaven (Philippians 3:20) will become immediately effective and you will be safely HOME forever.  Each day Jesus makes a withdrawal entry and extracts one day  entrusted to your stewardship.  You can spend each day foolishly or invest it wisely to count for eternity.  You are to be a wise obedient steward of every good gift (James 1:10) God gives you.

Because Jesus lives in you, you have (1 Corinthians 2:16) the mind of Christ.  Therefore, you are responsible for your thoughts, attitudes, choices and decisions and also accountable for them.  If you want a successful Christian life, you must (Joshuah 1:8) read and meditate on God’s Word every day.  Scripture meditation is spiritual medication to nourish your soul.

You must maintain unbroken communication with God by (Romans 12:12, 1Thessalonians 5:17) unceasing prayer.  Prayer is the golden connection between you on earth and Sovereign God in heaven.

You have been called to live (Ephesians 1:12) to the praise of God’s glory and to be (Acts 1:8) a faithful witness to the Lord Jesus.  Complaining, crowds out gratitude and gratitude crowds out complaining and (Philippians 4:6) worry is infidelity.

Be very sure that you can do nothing in your own strength.  You must be continually filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit.

As the years roll by and you grow older, you must continue (Psalms 92:14) to bear fruit in old age.

Jesus is coming soon (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) to take you home to the Father’s house.  Until He comes (Luke 19:12-13) occupy yourself, busy yourself with the Master’s business which is God’s redemptive purpose for the world.  Everything you do should be (1 Corinthians 10:31) for the glory of God

Because you are part of the True Church, your faithful obedience on earth will reveal and make known the infinite, manifold wisdom of God to the demonic powers and authorities in the heavenly sphere.  You have full guaranteed assurance (Hebrews 13:5-6) that Jesus is always with you, and you are never alone or unprotected.

The Lord (Psalms 145:19-20) fulfills the desires of those who love Him.

RICHER THAN DIAMONDS AND MORE VALUABLE THAN GOLD

I heard a song on Christian radio that I had never heard before and a couple of lines took root in my heart: - -

“If you have Jesus your soul has more wealth than acres of diamonds and mountains of gold.”  Everything minus Jesus equals nothing.  Nothing plus Jesus equals everything.  With deep gratitude we should live and exalt in the abundant riches we have in Christ Jesus.

The character of the Christian Life is “not I but Christ”.  To be filled with the overwhelming desire to satisfy the heart of God.  If you are filled with self-satisfaction, which is self-righteousness, you have made yourself an idol and you are guilty of the idolatry of self-worship.  All your thoughts and interests focus on yourself.  Genuine humility is not to think less of yourself because you are (2 Corinthians 5:17) a new creature of God in Christ Jesus.  We are not to think less of the self, God is newly creating us to be.  It is not to think less of self but to think of self less often.

Jesus did not die my death.  I was already spiritually dead and could not become any more dead than I was.  Sinless perfect Jesus chose to obey God and be made (2 Corinthians 5:21) what I was in order that I could become what He is, the very righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

As we grow and mature in our Christian life, we receive many good and perfect gifts from (James 1:17) the Father of all that gives light.  He gives always and only good and perfect gifts. I can pray for Kingdom Authority and other good gifts, which God gives to use in my life of prayer.  King Jesus is a magnificent and authentic model, in His humanity, of what our lives are to be on earth.  The life Jesus lives in believers is not a copy.  It is Jesus Himself living His very Life in and through us.  That is the one and only Christian Life.  Nothing we can do of ourselves - - we can only surrender to His will, His way and His timing in every aspect of our lives, moment by moment, and we become continually more like Jesus.  Then as we pray, we sense that our prayers are being formed by the throb of the great heart of God.

To be heart-to-heart one with God means that I will be dominated by the Lord alone and will have increasing Kingdom Authority as I pray for any person, any situation, any nation anywhere in the world.  Jesus said (John 14:12) that we would do greater works.  The greater works are mostly accomplished through prayer.  I am so thankful that God’s all-powerful energy still operates in every den of lions as in every firey furnace.  Faith (Hebrews 11:1) is being fully confident God’s promises which haven’t happened yet are as certain as history.  Actually, they are history just waiting for the right time to happen.  I know with full assurance that God Sovereignly controls every detail throughout the universe now and forever.  I also know with full assurance that God is in complete control of every detail of my life each and every day.  This assurance is my Rock of refuge for all that happens in this fallen world.

When Jesus healed the leper (Luke 5:13-14) He told him to go to a specific place and do a specific thing.  The Lord does not give us strength and enabling power to go and to do, He gives us strength and enabling power as we go and do in obedience to His bidding.  It was as they went (Luke 17:14) that the ten lepers were healed.

God has declared (Isaiah 46:10) the end from the beginning, the beginning of all things which He had originally ordained as we worship, obey, praise our glorious Sovereign God, wonders will never cease in our lives.

WHO TURNED THE LIGHT OFF?

Adam continually lived in the holy Light and Life of God.  But when Adam violated God’s Law (Genesis 3:19) he turned the Light off for himself and for all his descendants, who all together make up the human race.  The first child born into the world became a murderer (Genesis 4:8) and the darkness continued to increase.  Darkness gained ground in every heart and (John 3:19) humans chose the darkness rather than the Light, continuing to turn the Light off.

Jesus is the Light of the world (John 1.4:5) the only True and lasting Light.  If you do not have Jesus, you have only the darkness which will shroud your thinking and affect every aspect of your life.  The darkness within you will guide you to operate out of deepening darkness.

Jesus came into this world to be the Light of Life and He came with a message.  The heart of the Christian message is the Cross of Calvary. Everlasting Life and Eternal salvation is God’s ‘free gift’ of Grace to every person who will receive Jesus as their personal Saviour.  Jesus came to suffer, shed His precious Blood and die in agony on the Cross, in order to pay the penalty for our sin and redeem us.  He came to restore everything that was lost in Adam.  Jesus did not die to patch us up (2 Corinthians 5:21) but to make us righteous, new creations (Ephesians 2:10) with new purposes.

Our human bodies are fitted for life on earth, bodies which will die and decay.  Our glorified bodies (1 Corinthians 15:42-44) will fit us for eternal life in heaven to be forever with the Lord.

All we have at present is an earthly body, but it is (1 Corinthians 3:16, Corinthians 6:19) the temple of God, the temple of the Holy Spirit.  We are responsible and accountable for what we do in God’s temple.  How should we (1 Peter 3:11) then live?  Scripture gives us a pattern (Colossians 3:12-15) and clothing for our daily lives - - - mercy, gentleness, kindness, patience, enduring peace, goodness, generosity, long-suffering, forbearance, and always thankful.  A remark I heard from Dr. Youssef prompted this thought.  For Christians, Thanksgiving Day is not just an annual event, it must be our continual lifestyle of Thanks Living.  Then our good works (Matthew 5:16) will cause others to glorify our beloved heavenly Father.  Jesus called Christians/disciples the Light of the World.  If we live as we should, (1Tessalonians 5:10, Titus 3:8) having the Life of Christ Jesus, others will believe the Truth if we are devoted to Jesus.  We will put His interest first and show to others we will be loving our neighbour and obeying the Great Commission.  We have no interest or time for any attractive temptation in any form or guise.  We recognize the works of darkness

Obedience turns the light on.  God will never give us more light until we obey the Truth we already know.

The Word of God which we hold in our hands must fill our hearts and minds with all of its riches.  Moses said (Deuteronomy 8:3) that we cannot live only by physical food but by every Word God speaks.  Jesus confirmed this when He told us (John 6:63) that every Word He speaks is Spirit and Life.  My Bible is a bottomless treasure chest and a bottomless goldmine.

A few days ago, I had a small panic attack.  My Bible was not where I always leave it, and a frantic search turned up nothing.  I can’t live without my Bible.  I looked – I prayed – then the Lord showed me that it had fallen behind the night table.  I hugged it to my heart and finally I could breathe normally again.  I am so thankful for the wonderful, powerful living Word of God.

God is the absolute, Supreme, Sovereign Lord over all His disciples.  The rod in the hand of Moses (Exodus 4.2:4) is a symbol of prayer and our total dependence on God.  God’s Grace (Rom chapter 6) is not a license        to sin.  If we want to enjoy the benefits of our liberty in Christ, God forbid that that we should ever abate His Grace by doing evil on the false wicked assumption the good will come from our sin because Grace is greater.  Again – God forbid!

These days you hear many ads about investing for your future.  The best investment you can make for your future is to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour because your future is endless.  There is no such thing as soul-sleep.  Your physical death does not remove memory, emotions and feelings because your never-dying soul will exist forever somewhere.  Your choice in lifetime determines your eternal destiny.  Either torment in the blackness of darkness forever in hell, or the joyous life forever of light and heaven and peace.    There are only 2 eternal destinations and the (John 3:36) choice is yours.

Christians - - be alert, be on guard.  The tiniest fragment of sin in our lives has gigantic consequences in our lives.  Let us listen to Enoch (Genesis 5:24) and walk/live in habitual fellowship with God.  Christian victory is not practical work for God but intimacy with God. Private devotion exceeds public works.

Our Sovereign God is transcendent and dwells in the brilliant, blinding Light of unapproachable holiness.  Yet He is our beloved heavenly Father - - personal, precious, so near and dear, nearer than hands or feet and continually more precious to us.  He lives permanently within us and works within us progressively the process of His sanctifying Life.

Oh come - - let us adore HIM
